Affordable homes coming to Lansdown Avenue

A new seven-storey building is coming to Toronto that touts its status as providing affordable rentals and long-term care for the elderly.

The building is coming to 640 Lansdowne Ave and will be known as the Magellan Centre. It’s also been part of Toronto’s ‘Open Door Program,’ which accelerates affordable housing in the area. Still, there is no actual timeline out yet to confirm when the building might be completed.

There will be 47 affordable units, ten market-rate units, and 256 long-term care beds when it is done.

The building is set to be fairly standard-looking with a pink brick facade with a long rectangular design. It will also have 54 bike spaces and 32 vehicle spaces for parking.
