Montreal continues with its reputation of being a more affordable city with an average rental unit price of $1,218 for a one-bedroom apartment.
This data comes from a liv.rent report detailing the city’s average rental prices in September. While a one-bedroom unit in Montreal can cost around $1,200 per month, both Toronto and Vancouver are hovering around $1,700.
While Montreal is still lower than the two other Canadian cities, the overall prices are rising compared to a few months ago. Back at the start of the summer during June, the average one-bedroom unfurnished rental was closer to $1,193.
The most expensive places to live in the city are downtown, which costs around $1,480 and the most affordable is in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville area ($1,042) near the top edge of Montreal.
If you’re looking for a two-bedroom unit, the cost is closer to an average of $1,693 and three-bedroom units go for around $2,038.
