New Brunswick sees biggest jump in housing costs in Canada

On average, most homes in New Brunswick are worth about 25 percent more than they were last year. A reasonably great return for anyone who managed to sell.

However, house prices in the province are still low compared to B.C. and Ontario. The Canadian Real Estate Association notes that the average price for a home on the island province is around $252,000. Last year it was only $203,000.

Ontario home prices climbed 22.9 percent, PEI went up 22.7 percent, and Nova Scotia went up 20.5 percent. Both Saskatchewan and Alberta saw a minor change, with prices only rising a little less than four percent.
