If a plan for a Toronto condo goes through, the rather tall building could tower of its neighbourhood.
Sanderling Developments Limited has plans to build a new high-rise condo at 586 Eglinton Ave. E in midtown’s Bayview and Eglington area.
The 32-storey mixed-use office and condo tower would replace the current eight-storey office building located at the address. If you’re familiar with the area, you’ll know that 115 metres is significantly taller than anything else in the neighbourhood. Of course, this could also mean that the city of Toronto will end up rejecting the development proposal.
The building’s four-storey base features 4,021 square metres of office and 651 square metres of retail space along Eglinton Avenue. The proposal also outlines a fifth-floor indoor/outdoor amenities building before the residential tower above it. Finally, 80 parking spots are planned for the development.
The building itself is the standard glass-filled minimalist fair Toronto is known for at this point, with the balconies facing on the south side featuring a cascading pattern.
It makes sense for more condos to be coming to the era given the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is nearby and in a sense, also because of the ongoing housing crisis in the city.
