A new condo building proposal plans to tear down a warehouse and replace it with a five-storey condo development called Park Place is in the works in Vancouver.
This project includes 48 strata homes and six townhomes and will sit at 2120 West 10th Avenue, in Vancouver. Currently, an abandoned warehouse from 1952 sits on that lot. This is about a block south of where Vancouver is hoping to build the future Arbutus SkyTrain station.
Out of all the homes, a little more than half will be one-bedroom units, and the rest will be two-bedroom options. There will be both an indoor public space for residents and a larger outdoor space on the rooftop.
Another cool aspect of this is that if the building is approved, the developers plan to be as green as possible with mass timber construction and other perks that the company isn’t talking about yet.
Underneath the building, there will be 82 parking spaces for cars and room for over 100 bikes.
Early in 2021, Vancouver turned down an 11-storey building that was proposed to go across the street, so this option isn’t set in stone yet.
