Windsor, Ontario now sits in the number 17 most expensive city to live in Canada following a 5.3 percent month-over-month increase, according to Zumper’s national rent report,
The report says that this increase only relates to one-bedroom rent, which now costs an average of $1,190 per month in Windsor. Two-bedroom units, on the other hand, cost an average of $1,460.
What’s more shocking is that one-bedroom apartments are overall up 25.3 percent compared to the same time last year, with two-bedroom units being up 10 percent.
In Toronto, rent rates remain flat month-over-month at $1,800 for a one-bedroom and $2,250 for a two-bedroom unit. In fact, rent in Toronto is actually down year-over-year by 15 percent in November compared to November of last year, according to Zumper’s data.
Ottawa has also experienced a rental price dip in November, though by just 0.70 percent.
