SmartCentres has unveiled its plan for SmartCentres Oakville North, which is a mix of a new high-density residential and neighbourhood retail and will feature 28- and 29-storey towers.
The company is transitioning its brand from ‘Shopping Centres to City Centres’ and the first phase of this Oakville project will see the area, also known as “the Strawberry Capital of the Canadas,” house 585 residential units. There will be 11,900 ft² of indoor amenities and 13,000 ft² of outdoor amenity space.
The location is a 52-acre site along Oak Park Boulevard, designed by Turner Fleischer, is known by a farmer named John Cross who farmed strawberries and made wooden veneer strawberry baskets, which is why the building is designed in its manner.
Those who purchase a condo facing south on upper floors will have a view of Lake Ontario.
Oakville North community is near highways 407 and the QEW/403 and has access to Oakville Transit, including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines on Trafalgar Road.
