Following theScore getting acquired by Barstool Sports’ parent company Penn National, the media and sports betting company has announced plans to lease an 80,000 sq. ft. office space in downtown Toronto near Sugar Beach’s waterfront.
“As our technology-driven business has grown across North America so too has theScore family, particularly in product development and engineering, with new team members joining every week. We are committed to supporting our strong Toronto roots, continuing to grow our operations and workforce, and are thrilled to do so in a new, state-of-the-art waterfront office space,” said theScore Chairman and CEO, John Levy, in a recent press release.
The Canadian company says that it will occupy 85 percent of the space in The Exchange, one of the two Menkes Developments and BentallGreenOak buildings that are part of the 475,000 sq. ft. Waterfront Innovation Centre.
The Waterfront Innovation Centre includes three buildings: The Exchange, The Hive and The Nexus.
The building features an open concept that aims to encourage collaboration. Both theScore’s editorial operations and new sports betting efforts will be housed in the new office. The new office will also give the company access to the waterfront area’s fibre-optic internet connection.
