Would you live house that used to be a Church? No? What if I told you that it costs less than the average price of a condo in the Toronto area.
A converted church located at 44418 Brandon Road in Ethel, Ontario, a small town north of Stratford, is listed for slightly under $600,000 — a price that’s under the cost of the average Toronto condo.
According to its real estate listing, the Ethel United Church was first built in 1877 and then was moved and “reimagined” back in 1917.
The Church — as you may have already guessed — very much still looks like, well, a Church, and includes 18-foot ceilings, gothic windows and various other out-there architectural features as far as a home is concerned.
However, there have been several upgrades to turn it into a more traditional home, including five bedrooms, with four located in the basement, two bathrooms (one even features a stunning pedestal soaker tub), and an enormous basement kitchen. The house also includes a laundry/utility room and a gorgeous garden.
It might not be a traditional home, but the price is certainly right, and it looks undeniably cool.
