An upcoming ‘flatiron’ building is set to get a new look.
The proposed development site, located at 1071 King Street West on the West corner of Duoro street in Toronto, has undergone several planned transformations over the last few years.
Developer Hullmark and First Capital revealed plans for a 14-storey building with 205 condo units back in 2011. Then six years later following the city not making a decision regarding First Capital’s plan, the development company resubmitted another proposal to the city that was eventually approved.
Hullmark has now revealed additional updates to the project, including that it will feature 227 rental units instead of condos.
The bottom floor of the building features 5,500 sq. ft. of retail space and 2,476 sq. ft. of parking. There’s also a connection to the West Toronto Railpath attached to the project. Other features include a media room, a gym, a kids’ area, an outdoor lounge, a pet zone, BBQs and more.
Based on images released so far, the outside of the building features a traditional red brick design and an ample amount of glass.
It’s important to note that before the project can move forward, it needs to be approved by the city.
