Toronto’s Imperial Pub might turn into a condo tower

Yet another Toronto landmark could soon become a condo tower.

The city’s Imperial Pub, its upstairs library lounge and its rooftop patio, could soon be the location of yet another condo tower, according to blogTO. The historic bar is located near Ryerson and is a popular spot for University students. It also stands out as one of the few remaining historic locations in Toronto’s otherwise very sanitized Yonge and Dundas area.

The recently filed application describes a 30-storey mixed-use tower loathed at 54-74 Dundas Street East and 98-100 Bond Street, the precise location the Imperial Pub currently is located. No other information about the proposed condo tower is currently known.

The Imperial Pub has been located in Toronto for over 75 years but is not marked as an official heritage site. While there’s a possibility the proposal for the area could get denied, these projects typically end up going forward
