Two new giant skyscrapers proposed for downtown Toronto

A new development proposal has been submitted to the city of Toronto by Kingset Capital to build two giant skyscrapers at 475 Younge Street.

The towers are set to be 75 and 78 storeys, respectably making them the second and third tallest buildings in the city, and if approved, they’ll take up an entire city block. A Courtyard Marriott hotel currently sits on the site.

The site has already been approved to become a 45 storey and 58 story buildings in 2017. Still, the application has been updated now that the company thinks they can up the potential of the site, according to Urban Toronto.

The two towers are surrounded by a small park/common area and the developers are also planning to use some of the street-facing areas for retail space on the ground.

Inside the towers, there will be 1,611 units. 207 of them will be studios, 911 are one-bedrooms, 269 are two-bedrooms and the remaining 161 units are three-bedrooms.
